Scan troubleshooting

When a scan fails or comes back looking wrong, one of these steps almost always sorts it out. Work through them in order. The fix is usually in the first two.

Retry with a better photo

Correct the result

If the scan works but the result looks off, use the two built-in correction tools. Confirm the portion size when the app asks, which alone takes average accuracy from within 11% of a kitchen scale to within 4.7%. Then add one or two words of context so the AI corrects its identification of the meal.

Use a fallback input method

Photos aren't the only way in. If a photo isn't working, log the meal another way:

If scanning pauses: Fair Use limits

Each plan has Fair Use scan limits to keep the service fast and fair for everyone. If you hit your plan's limit, scanning pauses temporarily and resumes on its own. Nothing is broken. Premium carries much higher limits, so heavy trackers rarely see this.

A scan that keeps failing on a specific meal is useful to us. Email a description of what happened and we'll dig in.
