How NutriShot AI handles your data
Most apps collect as much as they can. NutriShot AI is built the other way: it doesn't collect or store your name or email at all. Your account is keyed only to an anonymous OAuth identifier from your Apple or Google sign-in. We couldn't look you up by name if we wanted to, because that information never reaches us.
What the app processes
To do its job, the app processes a set of anonymous inputs:
- Height, weight, and activity level
- Your nutrition goals
- Meal photos and text descriptions
Meal photos and descriptions are sent to AI providers for analysis, which is how the scanner works. They arrive without any identity attached. None of it links back to a name or email, because there isn't one on file anywhere in our systems.
What never happens
- Your data is never sold to anyone
- Health data is never sold or shared with a third party. Imported weight readings are stored in your weight history; calories burned stay on your device
- No cross-app tracking of you around the internet
Because there's no name or email on file, your Support ID is the only way to locate your account. Keep it handy when you contact support.
You stay in control
You can revoke health permissions in your device's system settings at any time, and you can delete your account and its data entirely, in the app or by email. The full details, including our data processors and retention periods, are in the privacy policy.
